Rotary District News

Vol. 1, Edition 26 - March 15, 2023

Information Every Club in District 6450 Can Use

Comments from Governor Ade

On March 10, 2023, the District's administrative services changed from Chicago Association Management (CAM) to the District’s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). After much deliberation, the District Board of Directors decided to change the delivery of administrative services from the management company we retained in 2020. Henceforth, please direct your requests and business-related matters to Linda Yates, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). The Chief Administrative Officer will assume the administrative services previously performed by the Chicago Association Management (CAM). Please make a note of this change.

IMAGINE TOGETHER: A Rotary Exposition - REGISTRATION IS OPEN for the 2030 DISTRICT CONFERENCE. The district conference will be held on Saturday, May 6, from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at The Max in McCook, 4750 Vernon Avenue, McCook, IL.   There is no charge, and food will be available for purchase. The conference will be an exposition of Rotary service in District 6450, with each club presenting a showcase of its activities during the year. In addition, there will be opportunities to participate in service projects, attend training sessions, listen to engaging speakers, and conduct business at the Annual Meeting. A notification about the Annual Meeting will be sent out next week with details about the business meeting.

13-19 March — World Rotaract Week is an annual celebration of the success and importance of Rotaract in communities worldwide. We have four outstanding Rotaract clubs in the District. During my visit to your clubs, I implore you to engage them and find collaboration opportunities as they adjust to their new Rotary membership level. Rotaractors are the future of Rotary, so it is incumbent on all of us to bring on the next generation.

March 25 — District Interact Symposium. Rotary International Director Pat Merryweather-Arges, is sponsoring a District 6450 Interact Symposium on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the South Shore Cultural Center in Chicago. The Symposium for Interactors, Interact faculty, and Rotarians will be held from 8:00 am to 12 noon. Rotary International is advancing youth programs and has established a Youth Advisory Council and an Interact Advisory Council to advise the RI Board. We will focus on aligning our Interact clubs with the goals of the two councils.

March 31 — Preregistration discount ends for the Rotary International Convention
‘Sharpen your leadership skills, get inspired with new ideas, and learn from others at a breakout session in Melbourne, Australia, 27-31 May 2023.'

As always, I urge you to continue to track your service hours and share a showcase of your work with Rotary and your community.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Ade Onayemi
